ORVILLE NORDEAN JACOBSON

The funeral service for Orville Nordean Jacobson will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2012, at the First Presbyterian Church, 109 Main Street in Hayfield, MN with Reverend Charlie Talcott officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield. Orville Nordean Jacobson, 95, died on May 20, 2012, at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield. Orville was born on April 5, 1917, the son of Ole and Stella (Rouhoff) Jacobson in Hayfield, MN. Orville attended Hayfield High School. Orville was united in marriage to Marjorie Janes on December 12, 1940, at her parents home. She died on February 20, 1988. He later married Dorothy Nielsen-Haugen on September 11, 1988. Dorothy died on January 5, 2004. Orville worked at Farmers Co-op, Gulbransen Oil in Oslo, and farmed. He was a member of the Cemetery Board, Mantorville Theatre Company Board, Lions Club, Farmers Club, First Presbyterian Church and served as a Deacon at church. He enjoyed music, Norweigan Readings, woodworking, cards and Disney World. Orville is survived by his children, Roger (Betty) Jacobson, Hayfield, MN; James (LaVonne) Jacobson, Rochester, MN; Sharon (Harry) Roberts, Hayfield, MN; Robert Jacobson, Rochester, MN; Jon (Kimberly) Jacobson, Hayfield, MN; Shelley (Paul) Steger, Hayfield, MN; 32 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Verna Hancock, Akron, OH; step children, Michael (Delaine) Haugen, Minneapolis, MN; Patrick (Barbara) Haugen, Farmington, MN; Judith (Allan) Wright, Dodge Center, MN; Virginia (Gerald) Hyland, Hayfield, MN; Diane (Stephen) Grier, Apple Valley, MN; and Sara (William) Clegg, Sonoma, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; brother-in-law, Robert Hancock; and daughter-in-law, Darcy Jacobson. Visitation will be 5:00-9:00 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2012, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 2nd Street NW, Hayfield, MN and one hour before the service at the church on Monday. The family prefers memorials to Field Crest Care Center or the First Presbyterian Church in Hayfield.
