Lorraine Joyce Moen

HAYFIELD, MN: Lorraine Joyce Moen, 91, passed away peacefully, July 2, 2012 at Fieldcrest Care Center in Hayfield.

Lorraine was born April 4, 1921 in Vernon Twp, in Dodge County to Otto and Luella (Haukom) Kyllo. She graduated from Hayfield High School and Austin Teachers Training. Lorraine taught school for 5 years and later worked for the Hayfield School Lunch Program for 27 ½ years. On September 6, 1941 Lorraine married Archie Moen. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she belonged to the Patience Circle, Bible study group and taught Sunday school for many years. Lorraine enjoyed baking, dancing, having morning coffee at Uncle Mony’s but above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Lorraine is survived by her son, Gary (Ruth) Moen of North Bend, WA; daughter, Julie (Chuck) Behrens of Hayfield, MN; 7 grandchildren, Heather (Byron) Gerard, Elizabeth (Matt) Mekelburg, Jonathan (Kendall) Moen, Shanna (Jason) Fink, J.P. (Tracy) Behrens, Kyle (Becky) Behrens, Justin (fiancé Lindsey Simon) Behrens; 14 great-grandchildren, Caleb, Courtney, Kaitlyn, Sarah, Sydney, Tyson, Emily, Jacob, Micah, Parker, Brody, Blake, Kaia, Breckyn; brother, Sterling(Betty) Kyllo of Hayfield, MN and sister, Janice (Jim) Gronseth of Dexter, MN. Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband, Archie; parents, a stillborn son and infant sister.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayfield with the Rev. Paul Hauschild officiating. Burial will be at Evanger Lutheran Church Cemetery, Sargeant, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
