The funeral service for Albert J. Yoder will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2010, at Fairview Mennonite Church in Kalona, IA with Pastor Dennis Martin, Pastor Arnold Skrivseth and Pastor Perry Miller co-officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Mennonite Church Cemetery in Kalona, Iowa.
Albert J. Yoder, 76, died at his home in rural Austin, MN on October 4, 2010.
Albert J. Yoder was born on July 17, 1934, the son of John and Lena (Miller) Yoder, Jr. in Kalona, IA. He was united in marriage to Cleola Miller on September 23, 1954, in Kalona, IA. The couple resided in Kalona, IA and in 1972, they moved to Princeton, MO, 1977 to Richland Center, WI and the last 26 years in rural Austin, MN. Albert farmed in all of these areas. He enjoyed raising hogs and was a semi driver for 11 years.
Albert is survived by his wife, Cleola Yoder, Austin, MN; son, Leslie (Brenda) Yoder, Constantine, MI; two daughters, Grace (Nelson) Troyer, and Rose (Nate) Miller, both of Apple Creek, OH; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three brothers, Rueben Yoder, Kalona, IA; Simon (Mary Susan) Yoder, Keota, IA; Dennis (Judith) Yoder, Kalona, IA; four sisters, Ida (Willard) Yoder, Kalona, IA; Anna Mae (Lester) Coblentz, Princeton, KY; Emma (Cephas) Yoder, Kalona, IA; and Nina (William) Bontrager, Millersburg, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Lydia Borntrager; Amelia Yoder, and Mary Yoder.
Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home 501 2nd Street NW in Hayfield, MN.
