ALICE MARY CLEPPE
Alice Mary Cleppe, 96, of Brownsdale, MN passed away on February 17, 2015, at Our House Memory Care in Austin.
Alice was born on February 7, 1919, in rural Hartwick, IA the daughter of Charles and Romanie (Hudders) Boudonck. Alice and her siblings were first generation Americans and proud of their Belgium ancestry. Alice was united in marriage to Ferdinand "Fred" Cleppe on January 9, 1941, in Victor, IA.
After their marriage they lived a year and a half in East Moline, IL, where Fred worked in the Steel Mill during wartime and Alice became a mother for the first time. They returned to Tama, IA area where they farmed before moving to their own farm in rural Brownsdale, MN in 1948. They farmed there until their retirement. Fred passed away on March 17, 2004.
Alice is survived by one daughter, Beverly (Kenneth Wayne) Reed, Stewartville, MN; James (Carrie Rosseau) Cleppe, Brownsdale, MN; Charles (Colleen) Cleppe, Elmore, MN; one brother, Julian Boudonck in IA; eight grandchildren; two step grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters; three brothers and a daughter-in-law, Terri Cleppe.
The funeral mass will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church, 404 West Main Street in Brownsdale, MN with Reverend Dale Tupper celebrating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield, MN. Visitation will be 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 302 Market Street in Brownsdale assisted with arrangements.
