ALLAN DALE NARVESON
The memorial service for Allan Dale Narveson will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015, at United Methodist Church, 1st Avenue and 1st Street NE in Dodge Center, MN. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2015, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 25 South Street SW in Dodge Center and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center with military honors by the Dodge Center American Legion Post #384.
Allan Dale Narveson, 86, of Dodge Center, MN passed away at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Mary's Campus, Rochester, MN on April 19, 2015.
Allan was born on March 24, 1929, in the Crookston area, MN the son of Obert and Estella (Rasmussen) Narveson. He attended country school near Grand Meadow. On February 19, 1951, he entered into the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged on February 18, 1953. When he returned home he farmed with his brother, Clayton. He met Virginia "Peggy" Graves at the Dodge Center roller rink. On October 5, 1952, they were united in marriage at the United Methodist Church in Dodge Center. Allan worked for a local well business, before starting his own business, Narveson Well Service in 1980. In 1984, his son, Ron and son-in-law, Keith bought into the business, where they continued to work together.
Allan enjoyed fishing, MN Twins, traveling, visiting the casino, playing Black Jack and watching TV, especially wrestling. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #384 in Dodge Center. One of Allan's greatest honors was being able to attend the Honor Flight to Washington DC in 2010.
Allan is survived by his wife, Peggy Narveson, Dodge Center, MN; son, Ronald (Janice Twaddle) Narveson, Dodge Center, MN; daughters, Judy (R. Keith) Ruport, Kasson, MN; and Karen (Hubert) Bones, Rochester, MN; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and one brother, Virgil (Lois) Narveson, Mora MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Clayton Narveson.
