Berit AnnCharlotte Anderö-Ness passed away on March 21, 2020 in Mantorville, MN surrounded by her family after a long battle with COPD and lung cancer. Ann was born on August 30, 1952, the daughter of Sören and Berit (Johansson) Anderö in Kalmar, Sweden. Ann came to the United States as an AFS exchange student in 1970 and graduated from Markesan High School in 1971.

Ann married Charles Ness on June 8, 1974 in Sweden. Ann lived and worked at Ness Electric in Markesan, WI for many years before moving to La Crescent, MN to start her second career as an Occupational Therapy Assistant following her divorce.

Ann was known for her caring personality and always putting her friends and family first, helping out in any way that she could. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends. She enjoyed gardening, reading and sewing doll clothes for her granddaughters. She was a loving mother, aunt and grandmother (Mormor).

Ann is survived by her son, Karl (Amie) Ness of Mantorville, MN; daughter Carin (Matt) Keyes of Eau Claire, WI; AFS daughter Carmen (Steffen) Platz of Gaiberg, Germany; sister Susanne (Anders) Anderö-Wännström of Frösön, Sweden; AFS sister Beth (Dennis) Svendsen of Rockford, MN; ex-husband Charlie (Deborah Rae) Ness of Waynesville, NC; mother-in-law Virginia Ness of Markesan, WI; sister-in-law Carol Jean Dillie of Markesan, WI; brother-in-law David (Theresa) Ness of Kenosha, WI; grandchildren Kenley, Emersyn, Elise, Ginny, Samuel, Maileen and Jaron; many nieces and nephews; special friends Jane Miller and Judy Storlie of La Crescent, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents Sören and Berit Anderö; AFS parents Wilmer and Vi Gorske; father-in-law Gilman Ness; brother-in-law Jerry Dillie.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held at a future date. Ann will be laid to rest next to her parents in Huaröd, Sweden.
