BARBARA ANN FRANKE
Barbara Ann Franke, 78, received her angel wings on March 7, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Barb was born August 30, 1939, in Mankato, MN to Emil and Esther (Grothe) Osmundson. She grew up on the family farm in Delavan, where she graduated from high school in 1957. She married her best friend, Gene on November 23, 1957, in Delavan, MN. Gene and Barb moved several times before they made their home and life together on their family farm in Hayfield, MN. Farming was their livelihood and how they built their family, and faith guided her life. Her passions in life were her family, her garden, and collecting antiques (especially Red Wing crocks). She always made sure that the farm ran smoothly and that everyone was well fed and loved. She was first and foremost a loving mother and grandmother, a Sunday School teacher, a 4H leader, and a church board member, among other things.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gene; her children; Jeffrey (Michelle) Franke, Jacksonville, FL; Michael (Linda) Franke, Thomas (Betty Ann) Franke and Barbara (David) Wolf, all of Hayfield, MN,; her grandchildren, Alex Petersen, Amber (Brian) Padley, Joshua (Shannon) Franke, Melissa (Jacob) Meyer, Ian Franke, Jared Franke, Beatrice Franke, Heather (Chase) Collins and Joe Franke; and great-grandchildren; Alexys Lundquist, Kaitlyn Lundquist, Gabryel Franke, Jeremyah Franke and Isaac Meyer; brother, Roland Osmundson, Delavan, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Edward Osmundson, Frank Osmundson, and granddaughter, Ellen Petersen.
Visitation will be 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2018, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 2nd St NW in Hayfield and one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday March, 13.
