Bernice Lermon – Dodge Center, MN

Bernice L. Lermon, 93, of Dodge Center, MN. found her way home to be with her husband John, and son David, along with her parents, brothers, and sisters on February 4, 2018.

Bernice was born to Elizabeth “Minnie” (Outcalt) and Arthur Kleeberger on November 28, 1924. Her childhood was spent in southern Minnesota. After graduation from school, she went to Normal training and taught in a country school. She met her husband John Lermon who was working as a hired hand, when she served lunch to him.

Bernice and John Lermon married on August 30, 1945. They bought a farm north of Dodge Center, MN. Together they raised their “7 little D’s” as they were known to all the family; Diane (Rick) Nerud, Deborah (Douglas) Schroeder, Darlene Smith, Denise (Kevin) Blake, Dawn (Eldo) Wobschall, and Dan (Theresa) Lermon.

Bernice was a farmers wife and the CEO of the Lermon Crew. She was busy with garden work, canning and freezing all of the family food and sewing clothes for the crew. She was a Sunday school teacher and president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion in Dodge Center. In her leisure time, (and there was not a lot) she loved to crochet, oil paint and wood carving. Many people received the most wonderful gifts made by her hands.

In addition to her children, Bernice has a family of 20 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, a sister Adeline Ramsey and a brother-in-law Bill (Cordy) Lermon.

The Lermon Crew thanks all of the staff in Cottage #2 at Cottagewood Senior Communities for the outstanding care and compassion they gave to our mother. The staff was also so supportive to our family. We also want to thank Heartland Hospice for their additional support to our mother and to our family.

There will be no reviewal. A private funeral will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to Cottagwood Senior Communities Cottage #2 4220 55 th St. NW Rochester, MN. 55901 or Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund 333 N. Summit St. P.O. Box 10086 Toledo, OH 43699-0086

Arrangements are with Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Hayfield, MN.
