BETTY JOAN HASKIN

On November 22, 2011, the Angels came to take Betty Joan Haskin home to be with our Lord, after a short battle with cancer.
Betty was born on July 11, 1941, to Edward and Josephine (Skok) Ripka in Owatonna, MN. She grew up and attended school in Claremont. She married the love of her life, Daryl Haskin in 1958, at Evanger Lutheran Church and they were blessed with 53 and 1/2 years of marriage. Betty worked side by side with Daryl at the gas station they owned in West Concord for many years. They moved to Hayfield in 1978, where she worked for the Window Company, Vet Clinic, Menards, and finished her last couple years working with her daughter at the tax office. Betty enjoyed working in her flower garden and working in the yard with her husband. Betty taught us that God, Family, and Love are most important in life and led us all by example.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, Daryl Haskin, her three children, Cindy Hornstein, Ronald (Candy) Haskin, Connie (Mark) Kaehler, grandchildren, Kari, Jennifer, Tisha, Chad, Angela, Amy, Alicia, Cori, step-grandchildren, Nathan, Chelsea, Heather, Jake, Jordan, and 20 great-grandchildren, brother, Eugene Ripka, a special man she considered a brother, Hookie Allen, brothers and sisters-in-law and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Marvin and Donald, father and mother-in-law, Henry and Myrtle Wilkerson and many aunts and uncles.
A memorial and celebration of her life will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at Evanger Lutheran Church, 33554 660th Avenue, Sargeant, MN with Reverend Paul Hauschild and Reverend Dwight Dobell co- officiating. Interment will be in Evanger Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 2nd Street NW, Hayfield, MN and one hour before the service on Wednesday.
Blessed be her memory.
