BETTY ANN VIRNIG

Betty Ann Virnig, 76, died at her home in Hayfield, MN on April 27, 2011.

Betty was born on April 22, 1935, the daughter of Anton and Ruth Josephine (Carlson) Bos in Austin, MN. She attended and graduated from Austin High School in 1952. Betty attended two years of Junior College in Austin and two years at Winona Teachers College in Winona, MN. Betty was second highest grade average student at college and her roommate was first. Betty taught school for about 20 years in various schools. She was united in marriage to Adrian Virnig, Jr. in June of 1975, and they were later divorced.
Betty enjoyed her family, nieces and nephew, and was very proud on her only grandchild, Marie Elizabeth Martin. Other enjoyments were her sewing and gardening and children in general.

Betty is survived by her son, Adrian KáJon Virnig, III, Hayfield, MN; daughter, Leslie Louise (Jeff) Martin, Mason City, IA; granddaughter, Marie Elizabeth Martin; and one sister, Sandra Ruth (Richard) Tomlinson, Warrensburg, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Rosie.

A private family memorial service for Betty Ann Virnig will be held at a later date.
