Beverly Elaine Livingston

Beverly Elaine (Gray) Livingston, age 94, of Kasson, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center.

Beverly was born on August 5, 1929, to Fletcher William and Celia Janet (McGhie) Gray in Jordan Township, Fillmore County.  She attended Kasson Public Schools from kindergarten through 12th grade, graduating with high honors from Kasson High School in 1947.  During high school, Bev worked part time at Kasson Drug Store.  After graduation from high school, Bev attended Mankato Business College for four months.  Upon completion of school in Mankato, Bev worked at Myster Law Office for three years.

On May 24, 1950, Beverly married Ervin Livingston.  When Erv was called back into Service in the Army in October of that year, Bev moved out to Virgina with Erv.  During their year out East, Bev worked for the U.S. Navy in Washington D.C.

Upon their return to Kasson in 1951, Bev began her career as bookkeeper/office manager at Erdman Supermarkets Inc., where she worked for 55 years.

Bev was very dedicated to her church -- the Kasson First Presbyterian Church.  She was a member of the choir and the Presbyterian Women’s group, and her involvement in both gave her great joy.  She held many leadership roles in the church.  She was also the choir director for many years, church secretary and a youth leader.

Bev loved to travel!  She and Erv traveled to various locations in Mexico as well as Aruba, Hawaii, and Alaska.  They also visited many parts of the U.S. on motorcoach tours, and Bev particularly enjoyed the “Mystery Trips” to unknown locations.  Other pastimes Bev enjoyed through the years were fishing on Northern lakes and the Mississippi as well as boating.  And Bev was an avid Twins baseball fan – she loved watching in person the most, both in Florida for Spring Training and in the Cities during the regular season games.

Beverly is survived by nephews, Darrell Musolf of Kasson, David Livingston (Judy) of Dodge Center, Robert Livingston (Linda) of Rochester; as well as 10 great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Erv; and her parents, Fletch and Celia Gray.

The memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at the First Presbyterian Church, 101 6th Ave NW in Kasson.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Inurnment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Kasson.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the First Presbyterian Church in Kasson or the donor’s choice.
