The funeral service for Bonnie Jeanne Garness will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at the First Congregational Church 12 2nd Street NW in Dodge Center with Reverend Jean Boese officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center.
Bonnie Jeanne Garness, 74, of Dodge Center went to her heavenly home on Saturday evening, February 5, 2011, at her home in Dodge Center.
Bonnie Jeanne Schuster was born on July 21, 1936, the daughter of Hilton F. and Marjorie G. (Peterson) Schuster in Owatonna, MN. She graduated from Dodge Center High School. Bonnie was united in marriage to Olaf Garness on June 24, 1956. She worked at Jostens in Owatonna, was a nurses aid at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center, a day care provider, head cook at the Dodge Center schools, and a member of the First Congregational Church in Dodge Center. She enjoyed her family, gardening, bird watching and camping.
Bonnie is survived by three sons, Steve (Shari) Garness, Dodge Center, MN; Bill (Tami) Garness, Odessa, MO; Dan (Sara) Garness, Stillwater, MN; two daughters, Linda Garness, Kasson, MN; Patricia (Don) Rongve, Dodge Center, MN; 11 grandchildren, Bret (Rachel) Garness, Brian (Cassi) Garness, Bridgette (Matt) Narveson, Mati Jo Garness, Jeffrey Garness, Jenna Garness, Abbie Garness, Amanda (Steve) Kruckeberg, Jenni (Scott) Melder, Melissa Rongve, Kristina Rongve, Daniel Rongve; 12 great grandchildren, Owen, Hunter, Kaylee, Caitlyn, Deric, Alexis, Devon, Austin, Trey, Jaelyn, Brady, and Camden; two brothers, Phillip (Betty) Schuster, Kasson, MN; Darrell (Karla) Schuster, Maiden Rock, WI; two sisters, Marilyn (Loren) Otterbein, Dodge Center, MN; and Kathleen (Norman) Otterbein, Dodge Center, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 2004, 1 brother, Larry Schuster, and one infant child.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 110 West Main Street in Dodge Center and one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday.
