Bradley Steven Becker

Bradley “Brad” Steven Becker, 62, of Hayfield, Minnesota, passed away at home on Friday, January 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on July 1, 1963, in Rochester, Minnesota, Brad was the first child of Jerome “Jerry” and Margaret (Kvasnicka) Becker. To most, he was simply Brad-or “Hoss”-but to Grandma Ethel, he would always be Bradley.

Brad grew up in Hayfield alongside his siblings, where he became well known for his teasing, quick wit, and unforgettable pranks-especially when it came to his sister. But behind that playful spirit was a fiercely loyal and protective brother, and the bond they shared remained strong throughout his life.

He was active in sports during his years at Hayfield High School, playing football, basketball, and baseball. After graduating in 1981, he attended Rochester Community College before earning his degree in computer science from Mankato State University. Brad began his career in the Twin Cities, working for Cenex/Land O’Lakes, before returning home to southeastern Minnesota. In 1987, he joined Mayo Clinic in the IT department, where he built a long and respected career, finishing as an IT Lead. He took pride in his work and the relationships he built along the way. In the 1990’s, Brad met the love of his life, Michele Decker. They were married on July 27, 2001, and together built a life in Hayfield centered around family. Their son, Brady, was truly Brad’s pride and joy, and nothing meant more to him than being a dad.

Brad had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether he was hunting deer, pheasants, turkeys, or making trips for bears, moose and prairie dogs, he was happiest in the field. One of his greatest joys was purchasing hunting land with his family in southern Minnesota-a place filled with memories, stories, and laughter. He was a proud member of Pheasants Forever and the NRA. He also loved fishing-whether it was annual trips to Canada with family or ice fishing with friends and Michele. Summers often meant time on the golf course, where he was a longtime member of The Oaks Golf Club, playing in league nights and weekend rounds.

When winter rolled around, Brad could be found shooting pool in leagues and tournaments, watching sports, or stopping to visit friends and family. No matter what the activity, it was always better with good company, a few beers, and a can of Copenhagen.

Brad will be remembered for the way he showed up for the people he loved -whether it was with a joke, a story, or simply his presence.

Brad is survived by his wife, Michele Decker; his son, Brady Becker; his father, Jerry Becker; and his brother, Brian (Brenda) Becker; sister Brenda Ann Becker; sisters-in-law, Sharon Decker and Pam Person (Kendall); as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and cherished lifelong friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Becker; grandparents, Adolf and Frieda Kvasnicka and Art and Ethel Becker; uncles, Florian Ignaszewski and Bob Becker; cousins, Scot Becker, and Brandon Schmeichel; and sister-in-law, Marge Decker Cunningham.

Urn Bearers are: Bob Klocke, Alan Klocke, Duane Klocke, Dustin Koski, Jim Kvasnicka, Jeff Olstad, Jeff Ruzek and Mike Ryan.
