CALMER LUALLEN SEVERSON
The funeral service for Calmer LuAllen Severson will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 1st Street SE with Reverend Paul Hauschild officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield with military honors by the Hayfield American Legion Post #330.
Calmer Severson, 79, of Hayfield, MN passed away on Sunday afternoon, September 28, 2014, at his home surrounded by family.
Calmer was born on December 21, 1934, the son of Henry and Grace (Cramer) Severson in Hayfield, MN. He joined the US Marine Corps in 1953, and discharged in 1956, with the rank of Corporal. He married Karen Kae Hansen on November 10, 1957, at the First Presbyterian Church in Hayfield.
Calmer and Karen had three daughters and two sons. Calmer was a lifelong farmer even up to his death. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was always looking for a good game of cards. He had a passion for their display of Christmas lights and was able to accomplish one more project for their upcoming final year.
He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hayfield American Legion Post #330, and was named Citizens of the year in 2010, with his wife, Karen.
Calmer is survived by his wife, Karen Severson, Hayfield, MN; three daughters, Terry Sweno, Moose Lake, MN; Tracy (Harlan) Grabau, Kasson, MN; Theresa Severson, Hayfield, MN; two sons, Todd (Deinnelle) Severson, Kasson, MN; Tony (Pam) Severson, Apple Valley, MN; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Lois Burns, Hayfield, MN and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, and one sister.
Friends and family may visit from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2014, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 2nd Street NW in Hayfield, MN and one hour before the service on Saturday.
