Carol Diane Trygstad

Carol Diane Trygstad, 78, of Kasson, MN passed away Friday April 19, 2019 in Rochester, MN.  Carol was born on March 7, 1941 to Rudy and Susie Gulbranson in Kasson, MN.  She married Jerome Trygstad on August 4, 1962 in Dodge County, MN.  Together they had one daughter, Kristine Witzel of Kasson, MN.

Carol attended Mankato Business College after graduating from high school and started a successful career at IBM in Rochester, MN.  After 30 years at IBM she retired to pursue another opportunity to give back to the community at the Mayo Clinic for another 10 years in Rochester as a caring, loving employee.

Carol was faithful about attending Mount Sion Lutheran Church where she had many friends and enjoyed volunteering at numerous events and activities over the years.  Carol was also passionate about politics and gave countless hours to various political functions.   She enjoyed an active life with her grandchildren, daughter, and loved family involvement with her numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and extended family.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Kristine Witzel of Kasson, MN; sister, Suzanne Fell of Aurora, CO; two nephews, Shawn (Lisa) Cole of Aurora, CO and Pat (Paige) Cole of Denver, CO; four grandchildren, Emily Witzel of Kasson, MN, Andrew Witzel of Kasson, MN, Alyssa (Braxton) Miller of Minot, ND, and Caleb Witzel of Kasson, MN; sister-in-law’s, Julaine (Jim) Peterson of Mondovi, WI, Karmyn (Wayne) Peters of Rockdell, MN and Carol Trygstad of Rochester, MN.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Susie Gulbranson; her husband, Jerome Trygstad, and brother-in-law Dwight Trygstad.

Carol was a loving, caring, very generous mother, daughter, and sister.  She was special and loved by many who had the opportunity to know her.

Funeral services for Carol will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday April 24, 2019 at Mount Sion Lutheran Church, 502 1 ^st Ave SW Kasson, MN 55944, with Reverend Richard Erickson officiating.  Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday April 23, 2019 at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 801 7 ^th St SE Kasson, MN 55944 and one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in the East Saint Olaf Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Byron, MN.
