Carole Jean Burton, 82, of Mantorville, Minnesota passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester, Minnesota. Carole was born on March 24, 1939 in Kasson, Minnesota to Clarence and Annette McFadden (Glassmaker). Carole lived her whole life in the Kasson-Mantorville area. Carole met the love of her life David Lafon Burton at the Kasson roller rink in 1957 and was married on February 15, 1958. Together they raised 5 children, Duane (Jill) Burton of Kasson; Kathy (Michael) Johns of Eagan; Daniel (Sheila) Burton of Mantorville; Kelly (Steve) Madsen of Kasson; and Jay (Stacy) Burton of Galesville, Wisconsin.
Carole is also survived by a brother, Charles (Kay) McFadden of Byron, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren, Michael Burton, Joshua (Jennifer) Burton, Krissy (Mark) Stinocher, Kari (Donnie) Avery; Drew Burton; Breah (Joe) Duden; Beth (Patrick) Anderson; Sean Madsen; Emily and Ethan Burton; and 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents, extended family members, and exceptional friends.
Carole had a passion for life, family, and friends. Her life exemplified a willingness to work hard to gain success. She enjoyed the small things in life along with the everlasting friendships she developed over the years. Her career started as a secretary working for Rochester attorney Dan Foley until she became pregnant with her first child. For approximately 17 years, she partnered with Dave farming and raising 5 children. She subsequently went to work for Dodge County working in the Recorder’s office and served as the Dodge County Recorder for almost 25 years until her retirement. Following her retirement, she and Dave enjoyed the experiences of traveling on 3 separate cruises, multiple bus trips across the United States, and to the regional casinos. She was really fond of the slot machines. However, this enjoyment of traveling could not match the joy she obtained of being with family and friends, sharing stories of her experiences and the successes of her children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed sharing the stories surrounding the achievements and mischievous events of her great-grandchildren. Heaven has gained a precious angel. She will forever be remembered in our thoughts and prayers.
