Charles Ambros Braun

Charles Ambros Braun, 87, of Kasson, MN passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Mayo Clinic St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester, MN.

Charles was born on August 12, 1934, in Emmet County, ND to August and Leona (DuChene) Braun.  He lived there until he was 3 years old when they moved to Callaway, MN.  He attended school thru 8 ^th grade and then would say he went to high school at the farm show.    Other than farming he worked several jobs including, cutting ice in the winter and working at American Linen.  He served in the Army from 1957-1959 and was stationed in Korea for a year and then in Kansas.   He married O. Norma Himle on July 13, 2003, at their farm north of Mantorville, MN.

Charles did a lot of farm work and drove truck for many years.  He drove for IT as a heavy hauler and drove thru every state and most of Providence, Canada.  He also drove for Midwest Trucking and then eventually retired from Mikes Trucking where he hauled meal to the Stewartville elevator from Fairmont or Mankato, MN and beans and corn to Winona, MN.  He loved driving trucks around the country, and he loved to collect John Deere Tractors and attend and participate in tractor pulls.   He also enjoyed camping and traveling with his wife.  He will be deeply missed.

Charles is survived by his wife, Norma Braun; daughter, Terry Johnson; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several stepchildren, step grandchildren and great-step grandchildren.   He was preceded in death by his parents; five siblings; daughter, Lisa Marie; and four previous wives.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1904 Mantorville Ave N in Kasson, MN with Father John Lasuba officiating.  Visitation will be held on hour prior to the service.  Inurnment will be in South Zumbro Lutheran Church cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the church, 4830 120 ^th Ave SW in Kasson, MN.  Military honors will be provided by the Kasson American Legion Post 333.
