CHARLES EDWARD KROHN

A visitation for Charles Edward Krohn will be 2:00-4:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service at 2:30 p.m. on June 14, 2014, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 25 South Street SW in Dodge Center. Charles donated his body to Mayo Clinic.


Charles Edward Krohn, 97, passed away on May 21, 2014, at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center, MN.


Charles was born on October 5, 1916, the son of Henry and Edna (Moulton) Krohn in Claremont, MN.


During the war Charles worked on building the Alcon Highway in Alaska. He later worked for Signal Oil Company, delivering fuel to ranchers in Pendleton, Oregon area.


In 1952, he married Ada Marie Kay Loomis and they were later divorced. In 1955, he returned to Dodge Center to the family farm. In 1976, he married Alice L. Bonser. They lived in Dodge Center and spent several winters in Mission, Texas.


Charles is survived by his wife, Alice Krohn, Dodge Center; step children, Leon "Mike" Loomis, Milwaukee, OR; Bonnie Seymour, Tustin, CA; Vivian Kloppstein, Kasson, MN; Robert Bonser, Kasson, MN; Barbara Mogen, West Concord, MN; Burton Bonser, Wabasha, MN; nephews: David Krohn, Lloyd Krohn, Jerry Krohn, Bob Krohn, and niece, Karen Mangipinto. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd Krohn, a stepson, William Bonser, and a step grandson, Kanton Bonser.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Fairview Care Center Auxiliary.
