Colby Michael Head

Colby Michael Head of Holcombe, Wisconsin and Kasson Minnesota passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System – Luther Campus in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. His death was sudden and unexpected.

Colby was born May 26, 1975 in Rochester, Minnesota, to Michael H. and Linda (Stumbo) Head. He attended Schools in Tacoma, Washington, Rochester and Kasson, MN. After graduating from Kasson-Mantorville High School in 1994 he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. Military cruises took him and his fellow Marines to several Middle Eastern countries as well as Australia and Hawaii, and they served for 18 months at the Sasebo Military Base, Kyushu Island, Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1998.

Colby enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and in his younger years playing softball for local teams in Kasson.

Colby married Kristina “Krissy” Geary on August 4, 2001 in Kasson. Their sons are Logan Warren Head (16) and Justin Howard Head (13). He was employed as a production supervisor at DairiConcepts in Bruce, Wisconsin.

Survivors include his wife, sons, parents, brothers, Ryan Head of Kasson and Kile (Brooke) Head of Waukesha, Wisconsin, parents-in-law Rich and Darla Geary of Lake City, Minnesota, sister-in-law Brooke (Steve) Snyder of Rochester, maternal grandfather Gordon L. Stumbo of Wahpeton, North Dakota, two nieces, four nephews and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Those who preceded him in death include paternal grandparents Howard and Jo Head and maternal grandmother Ruth Stumbo.

A visitation and celebration of life will be at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 801 7 ^th Street SE, Kasson, MN 55944 on Saturday, July 7, from 11:00 AM -1:00 PM, with informal readings and prayers at 1:00 PM followed by sharing of memories until 2:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Kasson. All are invited for a light lunch starting at 3:00 p.m. at the Kasson American Legion Post 333.
