DALEN MELVIN GUNNESON

The funeral service for Dalen Melvin Gunneson will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Brownsdale, 206 East Main Street with Pastor Ken Petzold officiating.

Interment will be in Waltham Township Cemetery.

Dalen Melvin Gunneson, 95, passed away on November 14, 2013, at Mayo Medical Center, Austin, MN.
Dalen was born on July 12, 1918, the son of Melvin and Cora (Dalen) Gunneson in Dodge County, Minnesota. Dalen graduated from Elkton High School. He was united in marriage to Elsie Geyer on January 1, 1942, in Watertown, SD. He attended school at Fargo, ND studying diesel mechanics. Dalen did seasonal harvesting for SENECA Foods during the pea and corn seasons for over 30 years. Dalen was still active in farming until August of this year.

Dalen is survived by his children, Beverly (Roger) Powers, Blooming Prairie, MN; Paul (Stormy) Gunneson, Waltham, MN; five grandchildren, Ben (Nikki) Powers; Martin (Amy) Powers; Gretchen (Nicholas) Miller; Jessica (David) Schnepple; Lindsay (Bill) Cordle; seven great grandchildren, Tye, Savanna, Tucker, Simon, Corinn, Owen, and Nathaniel. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife in 2003.
Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, November 18, 2013, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Hayfield and one hour before the service at the church on Monday.
