DANIEL LEE BARRY
Daniel Lee Barry, 85, of Kasson, MN passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2017, at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield.
Dan was born in Sparta, WI on December 26, 1931, to George and Maribelle (Schaulf) Barry. Dan went thru the 11th grade in Kasson and worked in the kitchen at St. Mary's Hospital. In 1952, he went to Alaska and worked on the pipeline for two years.
Dan was united in marriage to Beverly (Sackett) on July 3, 1954. When he returned to Kasson he worked as an electrical linesman for the city of Kasson. In 1959, he started working for Donaldson's Construction in Dodge Center until the business sold out. He worked for different construction companies as an operator and mechanic. Dan then went to work for Quarve and Anderson Company as an operator and as a mechanic. After his retirement Dan did deliveries for NAPA of Kasson.
Dan was a member of the 49'ers Union just celebrating his 55 years with the union. Dan enjoyed watching westerns, snowmobiling, camping, and boating a lot of summers on French Lake in Faribault. Dan loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, teaching them many mechanical and everyday skills, as he was a jack of all trades.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughters, Pat (Jim) Anway, Dexter, MN; Pam (Jerry) Ranvek,
Kasson, MN; son, David (Krista) Barry, Mantorville, MN; grandchildren, Matthew Anway, Gena Thorson, Levi Ranvek, Luke Ranvek, Larissa Biscoe, Dalton Barry and Quade Barry; great grandchildren, Jessie Anway, Travis Anway, Jaeger Ranvek, Floyd Ranvek, Zeke Ranvek, Bennett Biscoe; Brekklyn and Maisley Thorson and one great-great grandson due to arrive in two weeks; his twin brother, David Barry; sisters, Patricia Lindsey and Nancy Fairhurst all of California. Dan was preceded in death by his parents and one infant daughter, Deborah.
The memorial service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home 25, South Street SW in Dodge Center, MN with visitation one hour before the service at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank Field Crest Care Center for the wonderful care given to Daniel during his short stay.
He was greatly loved and will be missed by all.
