The funeral service for Darrin Eugene Garness will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Aurora Lutheran Church 6329 SE 38th Street, Owatonna, MN with Reverend Aaron de Neui officiating. Inurnment will be in Aurora Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Darrin Eugene Garness, 40, passed away at his home in rural Blooming Prairie, MN.
Darrin Eugene Garness was born on June 22, 1970, the son of Dale and Carol (Camerer) Garness in Blooming Prairie, MN. He graduated from Hayfield High School in 1988. He was united in marriage to Shelly Hansen, on August 6, 1990, and later divorced. He worked at Huntting Elevator in Hayfield for many years, and later worked for Larson Products. Recently he was employed with R-S Grain until the time of his death. Darrin enjoyed cribbage, camping, collecting coffee cups, fishing, and loved his animals.
Darrin Garness is survived by his daughters, Tori Garness, Waltham, MN; Miranda Garness, Waltham, MN; father, Dale Garness, Blooming Prairie, MN; two sisters, Terese (Dan) Johnson, Yuba City, CA; Wanda (Mark) Becker, Rochester, MN; five brothers, Bernell (Carmen) Garness, Pine Island, MN; Russell (Glenda) Garness, Hayfield, MN; Kenneth (Virginia) Garness, Hayfield, MN; Rodney (Judy) Garness, Austin, MN; and Chad (Chris) Garness, Hayfield, MN. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Garness.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home 501 2nd Street NW in Hayfield and one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday.
