David Duane Folkert

David “Dave” Duane Folkert, 60, of Kasson, Minnesota passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, September 28, 2026.

David was born on July 24, 1966, in St. Peter, MN and was later adopted by Vince and Una (Hanson) Folkert in November of that same year.

Dave attended and graduated from Mayo High School, Class of 1985, in Rochester, MN. After Graduation he went on to work at Mayo Clinic in the Shipping Department for over 20 years. After that he worked in the service industry at different bars/restaurants in Kasson. He went on to marry Aaron Brookins in 1994. Later they had two children, Abigail of Woodbury, MN and Kameron of Richlands, NC.

Dave will be remembered for his sense of humor, willingness to help others, and his excitement for Minnesota sports (yes, all of them), traveling and seeing many of the major league stadiums, snowmobiling trips, and getting together with friends and family just because. Growing up he loved his cars, trucks, and going to all sporting events (Spring Training with his dad) which later turned into his own kids’ sporting events where he watched from the front row if he was not on the sidelines as a coach. He loved to brag about both of them, Abi with her sports accomplishments and Kam when he joined and served in the U.S. Marines.

Dave is survived by his children, Abigail and Kameron Folkert. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Una Folkert.
