DEHNA ANN SORENSEN
Dehna Ann Sorensen, 58, of Rochester, MN passed away peacefully while sleeping in her home on July 25, 2018.
Dehna was born on June 15, 1960, the daughter of Art and LaDonna (Richards) Sorensen in Austin, MN. Dehna graduated from Hayfield High School in 1978, and attended two years at RCTC and one year at Mankato. She then attended the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN and graduated with the highest honors. She was employed by Mayo Clinic, then moved to Arizona and later to New Mexico. In 1999, Dehna moved back to Minnesota and returned to Mayo until her passing.
Dehna was a loving sister to her younger siblings while growing up. She enjoyed outdoors, gardening, and was passionate in helping people and animals. Her lifelong dream was called The Giving Farm. She wanted a big organic farm with gardens, chickens, cows, goats, cats, dogs, and horses. She wanted to be able to provided free healthy organic food for people in need. She also wanted it to be a sanctuary where people and animals could come to heal. More than anything she loved her children.
Dehna is survived by her daughters, Kimberly (Brent) Klatt, Mesa, AZ; Ashley Klatt, Rochester, MN; parents, Art and LaDonna Sorensen, Waltham, MN; siblings, Frederick (Sharlene) Sorensen, Waltham, MN; Kirk (Kim) Sorensen, Hayfield, MN; Lana (Leonard) Schultz, Zumbrota, MN; and Kevin Sorensen, West Concord, MN. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 2nd Street NW in Hayfield with Pastor Peter Barby officiating. The visitation will be two hours before the service. Interment will be in Union Cemetery in Blooming Prairie, MN.
