The funeral service for Delmont Raymond Thoe will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2008, at Evanger Lutheran Church in rural Sargeant, MN with Reverend Lissa Kahl officiating. Interment will be in Evanger Lutheran Cemetery with military honors by the Hayfield American Legion Post #330.
Delmont Raymond Thoe, 76, died at Bonnell Good Samaritan Care Center in Greeley, CO on October 25, 2008.
Delmont was born on September 21, 1932, the son of Knut and Ella (Wilson) Thoe in Hayfield, MN. Delmont graduated from Hayfield High School and after high school he did carpentry work in the area. He moved to Colorado where he also did carpentry work and later was owner/operator of a bar and lounge in Platteville, CO. Delmont served four years in the Air Force during the Korean War. Delmont enjoyed sports and playing cards.
Delmont is survived by four sisters, Janice (John) Augustin, Austin, MN; Blanche Haugland, Austin, MN; Betty Hayes, Chino Hills, CA; and Esther Thoe, in California; one brother, Sterling Thoe, Austin, MN; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church on Monday. The family wishes memorials to the Evanger Lutheran Church. Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Hayfield is in charge of arrangements.
