DELORES EDITH STANTON
Delores Edith Stanton, 86, of Hayfield, MN passed away on Sunday morning, October 30, 2016, at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield.
Delores Edith Stanton was born on July 10, 1930, the daughter of Marvin and Edith (Yost) Gerber in Walters, MN. She graduated from Austin High School in 1947. On June 19, 1949, she was united in marriage to Douglas Stanton at St. Olaf Church in Austin. The couple lived on the farm near Hayfield until 1978, and then moved across the road where she resided until June of 2009. Delores has been a member of the First Presbyterian Church for 65 years and was ordained as an elder. Delores enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Delores is survived by her children, Gary (Lou Ann) Stanton, La Crescent, MN; Glenn (Janet) Stanton, Idaho Falls, ID; Randy (Judy) Stanton, Hayfield, MN; Paul (Diane) Stanton, Hayfield, MN; daughter, Diana (Edward) Scherr, Rochester, MN; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Douglas in 1990; one brother, Evert Gerber in 1976.
The funeral service will be Friday, November 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 109 East Main Street in Hayfield with Reverend Dr. Stephen Robertson and Reverend Jason Stanton co-officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 3, 2016, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home 501 2nd Street NW in Hayfield and one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.
