DENNIS RAYMOND CONROY
Dennis Conroy, beloved husband, father, educator and friend left this world to his eternal home on December 6, 2017. Dennis was born on June 21, 1963, to Clarence (Bud) and Mona (McInnis) Conroy in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. He was a graduate of Rice Lake High in 1981, and received his Music Education degree from UW-Eau Claire in 1985.
Dennis married his childhood sweetheart, Sally Mohr in 1985. Together they created a wonderful family, Kelsey, Nathan and Hannah. Dennis was an active member of his community. He taught at Hayfield High School for 23 years in the band department where his influence reflected consistent superior ratings. Dennis taught in Wisconsin and Kansas totaling 30 years of teaching experience. He was involved in many musical groups, quartets and performing musical ensembles.
He was an avid bicyclist racking up 100 plus mile rides. Dennis loved hunting, fishing and camping. Dennis enjoyed Sousa Marches, woodworking or being outdoors. He was known as "Uncle Breakfast" at many family gatherings.
Dennis is preceded in death by both of his parents and his mother and father-in-law, Harriet and Earl (Pud) Mohr. He is survived by his loving wife, Sally, his daughter, Kelsey (Brad) Blomberg, son, Nathan (Abby) Conroy, daughter, Hannah Conroy (Jared Rolo); granddaughter, Adelyn Joann and one Blomberg baby on the way; sisters, Sharon (Dan) Bauer, Vicki (Steven) Schreiber and brother, Steven Conroy (Jessica Callahan). Other family, Peggy (Tom) Karg, Linda (Mike) Shilts, Harvey (Sherry) Mohr, Judy (Jim) Brekke, Kirby (Lynn) Mohr, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Dennis was known for his keen sense of humor, his dedicated faith, his desire to serve the community and others. He will be missed more than words can express.
Visitation will be Friday, December 8, 2017, from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 ~ 2nd Street NW in Hayfield and one hour before the service at the Hayfield High School.
The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017, at the Hayfield High School, 9 ~ 6th Ave SE, Hayfield, MN with Reverend Aaron de Neui officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield, MN.
