The funeral Mass for Donald Nicklas Loew will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 2nd Street NE in Hayfield with Reverend Steven Peterson celebrating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield with military honors by the Hayfield American Legion Post #330.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:30 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2015, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 2nd Street NW in Hayfield, MN and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.
Donald Nicklas Loew, 80, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2015, at his home in Hayfield surrounded by his family.
Don was born on February 13, 1934, the son of Jacob and Angela (Ocken) Loew near Lidderdale, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Kathleen M. Faber on September 15, 1962, in Bancroft, Iowa. He served in the United States Army from 1954-1956 in South Korea. Don was a farmer all his life. He enjoyed Old Time music, woodworking and fishing.
Don is survived by his wife, Kathleen Loew, Hayfield, MN; children, Judy Branstad, Owatonna, MN; Patrick (Nancy) Loew, Inver Grove Heights, MN; Jackie Adelman, Apple Valley, MN; Angela (Kevin) Reichart Edina, MN; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; sisters, Shirley Van Pelt and Patti Hesch, both of Austin, MN; and Louanna (Alvin) Klocke, Faribault, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Nancy Loew; two brothers, Vernon and Norman and one sister, Darlene Klocke.
