The funeral service for Donald Joseph Rocek will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 1st Street SE, in Hayfield with Reverend Paul Hauschild officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.
Donald J Rocek 100, passed away on October 22, 2015, at Meadow Lakes Senior Living in Rochester, MN.
Donald was born on November 23, 1914, the son of Emil and Emma (Holmquist) Rocek in Madison Lake, MN. Donald was united in marriage to Marian Matz on November 3, 1942, in Waseca.
The couple farmed near Waseca, MN. In 1948, they moved east of Hayfield and farmed until 1979, when they moved into Hayfield. Donald served on various community boards and worked at the ASCS office and the Dodge County Assessor office. He was active at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayfield. He and his wife moved to Kasson, MN and to Rochester in October 2005. Donald enjoyed woodworking, golf, fishing and playing cards.
Donald is survived by his children, Barbara (David) Goetsch, Cheyenne, WY; Carol (Dallas) Ausrud, Rochester, MN; Shirley (J. Michael) Hayes, East Gull Lake, MN; and Roger (Cynthia) Rocek, Berthoud, CO; 12 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife in 2006; three brothers, one sister, and one infant grandson.
Arrangements are with Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Hayfield.
