DORIS BLANCHE BENTLEY

Doris Blanche Bentley, 87, peacefully passed away on January 16, 2014, in Rochester, MN.
A memorial service for Doris Blanche Bentley will be at a later date in the spring when her daughter and family from Washington State can be here. Interment will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2014, in the Pine Island Cemetery in Pine Island, MN with Reverend Carolyn Westlake officiating.

Doris was born on March 16, 1926, daughter of Gustav and Elsie (Shanks) Lehman, in Pine Island, MN.

She attended area schools in Pine Island and Rochester. Doris was united in marriage to Russell Bentley and they had four children. Due to health reasons she moved to a certified board and care facility, Maves Rest Home in Hayfield, MN, owned and operated by Grace, Alvin and Mary Maves. Her life was richly filled with this family, including their five children. Doris was a regular attendee of the First Presbyterian Church in Hayfield. Upon the closing of Maves Rest Home in 1996, Doris became a resident at Oakenwald Terrace Rest Home, ran by Mrs. Marian Lund in Chatfield. Deep long and lasting friendships continued to bless Doris. In 2003, she moved to Cottage Wood Senior Community in Rochester, and has resided until her death. Doris was a generous, sweet, kind, and simple lady and was loved by all. She enjoyed drawing, crafts, music, having her hair and nails done, and conversation with everyone. She was very proud of her entire family and all her extended families. Doris Bentley was a delightful person who had a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed visiting with people and they enjoyed her. She was a special person to all who knew her and she will be missed.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Linda (Bentley) Newton, Oroville, WA; sons, Larry Bentley, Portland, OR; Ronald Bentley, Plymouth, MN; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, five sisters; and one son, Duane Bentley.

Blessed be her memory.
