DOROTHY MAE ANDERSON

Dorothy Mae Anderson, 91, formerly of Brownsdale, MN passed away on March 3, 2018, at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield.

Dorothy was born on August 28, 1926, the daughter of Clarence and Florence (Heydt) Burns in Sargeant, MN. She graduated from Austin High School.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Durwood Anderson on November 20, 1945, in Sargeant, MN and the couple farmed together. Dorothy worked at Peterson's Grocery in Hayfield. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and spending time with family and trips to French Lake.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Diane (Steve) Suhr, Kasson, MN; Darla (Paul) Severtson, Brownsdale, MN; Duane (Sally) Anderson, Brownsdale, MN; Daryl (Laura) Anderson, Brownsdale, MN; 21 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; sister, Donna Hanson, Sargeant, MN; brothers, James Burns, Northfield, MN; Erling (Irene) Burns, Rochester, MN; Carlton (DeAnna) Burns, Stewartville, MN and sister-in-law, Val Burns, Austin, MN.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Durwood in 2006; brother, Marlyn Burns and great granddaughter, Brooke Suhr.

Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 2nd Street NW in Hayfield and one hour before the service at the church on Friday. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2018, at the Zion United Methodist Church, 201 Main Street SE in Sargeant, MN. The family prefers memorials to Zion United Methodist Church in Sargeant.
