The funeral service for Dorothy Evelyn Knudson will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015, at the United Methodist Church, 1st Avenue and 1st Street NE, Dodge Center, MN with Reverend Dave Westlake officiating. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery in Wasioja, MN.
Dorothy Evelyn Knudson, 85, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center.
Dorothy was born on January 15, 1930, in Preston, MN, the daughter of Harold and Nancy (Savidge) Klomps. Dorothy was united in marriage to Kenneth Knudson on June 6, 1948, at the Methodist Church in Rochester, MN, officiated by Rev. Trost. Dorothy was a longtime homemaker and provided day care services for many years in the community. She is well regarded for her baking skills, having made and shared recipes, cookies, cakes, and wedding mints for many weddings. She was a very special grandmother to everyone in the community.
Dorothy is survived by her children, David (Helen) Knudson, San Manuel, AZ; Jerald (Debra) Knudson, Goodhue, MN; Rodney Knudson, Dodge Center, MN; Gregory Knudson, Rochester, MN; Donald (Mary) Knudson, Rochester, MN; Harold (Evelyn) Knudson, Racine, MN; Dorothy "Susie" (Thomas) Laqua, Dodge Center, MN; 28 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; and one sister, Elsie Scott, Chisholm, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2013; two children; three granddaughters; one step granddaughter and one brother, Gerald Klomps.
Visitation will be 5:00~7:00 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2015, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 25 South Street SW in Dodge Center and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.
