DOROTHY MARGARET KOHN

The funeral service for Dorothy Margaret Kohn will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 2nd Street NE in Hayfield, MN with Reverend William Kulas celebrating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.
Dorothy Margaret Kohn, age 90, of Rochester and formerly of Hayfield, died on Tuesday evening, January 5, 2010, at Madonna Meadows in Rochester, MN.
Dorothy Margaret Funk was born on January 31, 1919, the daughter of William and Marie (Schmidt) Funk in Millville, MN. She graduated from Rochester High School and Winona State University. Dorothy was united in marriage to William Robert Kohn on October 19, 1940, in West Albany, MN. She taught school in Sargeant, Dodge Center, and Hyde Park, MN for 25 years. She and her husband farmed in Hayfield for many years and after retirement, they wintered and lived in Apache Junction, AZ. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening, playing Scrabble, traveling and camping. Dorothy was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hayfield.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Mary Kay (Vince) Herring, Rochester, MN; son, Richard P. (Valarie) Kohn, Cumberland, WI; three sisters, Donna Betcher, Sun City, AZ; Lucille (Gordie) Gudmundson, Sun City, AZ; Gloria (Wendell) Adell, Clermont, FL; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; one son, Gary; one granddaughter, and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2010, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home 501 2nd Street NW in Hayfield and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.
