Dorothy Eloise Norman

Dorothy Eloise Jetson Norman, 87, of Excelsior, MN, formerly of Byron, MN, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Trouvaille Memory Care and Suites in Excelsior, MN.

Dorothy was born on December 28, 1933 in Spring Grove, MN to Clarence and Olga (Brunsvold) Jetson.  She graduated from Spring Grove High School.   She then attended Winona State and UW Platteville, graduating with a degree in Education.  She taught in many different areas over the years including elementary school, Head Start, and ESL.

On June 15, 1957 she married Harold Norman at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove, MN.  Together they had two daughters, Sue and Sara.

Dorothy could be called Wonder Woman, as you always wondered what she was going to do next! She had an incredible zest for life, laughing, singing, and dancing along the way.  She loved to travel, including a trip to Alaska on the back of a motorcycle at the ripe old age of 80. She enjoyed hiking, camping, investment and biking clubs, reading, rosemaling, gardening and volunteering.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, and son in law, Ken. She is survived by her daughters, Sue Norman Donovan of Chaska, MN and Sara (Greg) Halac of Fort Collins, CO; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, extended family and countless friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Christ Lutheran Church, 201 Frontage Road NW Byron, MN, with Pastor Steve Rheingans officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.  Due to COVID-19 health concerns, masks and social distancing measures are required.  Inurnment will be held this summer in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Chaska, MN.  You are invited to join a live stream of the memorial service on the Christ Lutheran Church YouTube channel starting at 12:50 p.m., https://youtu.be/LSMFboP90AI .
