Duane Herman Barwald

Duane Herman Barwald, 65, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020 at his home in Dodge Center, MN.

Duane was born on May 14, 1955, the son of Deloren and Edna (Faylor) Barwald, on the family farm in Dodge Center, MN. He attended Dodge Center schools and graduated from Harmony, MN.  He moved back to Dodge Center to be with his family. He married Pamela Kay Roe on October 29, 1976 and together they had one child, Melissa.   He started his own siding business, Duane’s Siding, and had his business for many years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going on family vacations.  He also enjoyed going to car shows with his old cars, a 1957 Buick Special and a 1967 Mustang Fastback.  He loved spending time with his family and looked forward to the many large family get togethers.  He couldn’t wait to be a grandfather and loved them dearly.  They were the light of his life.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was known for his generosity and willingness to help others.

Duane is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Matt) Bailey, Owatonna, MN; two grandchildren, Madyson and Mason; siblings, Charlotte (Henry) Robinson, Rochester, MN, Phyllis (Earl) Peters, Panama City, FL,  LeRoy (Marilyn) Barwald, Dodge Center, MN, Carol Alcott, Kasson, MN, Dennis (Teri) Barwald, Dodge Center, MN, Debra (Darrel) Roe, Dodge Center, MN; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Delmar Barwald.

A private graveside service will be at Wildwood Cemetery in Wasioja, MN with a future celebration of life at a later date.  Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 25 South Street in Dodge Center, MN assisted in arrangements.  Blessed be his memory.
