DUANE HARRY HYTHECKER
Duane Harry Hythecker, 74, passed away suddenly at his home in rural Hayfield on Wednesday, October 4, 2017.
Duane was born on June 11, 1943, in Owatonna to Herbert and Velma (Wigant) Hythecker. He graduated from West Concord High School in 1961, and served in the Army Reserves from 1961 to 1965.
On May 11, 1963, he married Janice C. Fredrickson at the Methodist Church in Kasson. They lived in Kasson for 11 years, moving to a farm west of Oslo in 1974. He worked at St. Marys Hospital as a Maintenance Electrician for over 36 years, retiring in 2004. Duane was involved, with others, in forming the KM Snow Drifters Snowmobile Club. He farmed on the side for a number of years until he and Janice became antique dealers in the late 80's.
Duane is survived by his wife, Janice Hythecker, Hayfield MN; sons, Eric (Holly) Hythecker, Dodge Center, MN; Scot (Karry) Hythecker, Byron, MN; daughters, Tracy (Gregg) Haskin, Mantorville, MN; and Kelly (Randy) Scott, Kasson, MN; brother, Roger (Sharon) Hythecker, Dodge Center, MN; and sister, Carol (James) Cottrell, Jim Thorpe, PA; thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Duane is preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
Visitation will be 3:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, October 8, 2017, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 2nd Street NW in Hayfield, MN and one hour before the service at the church on Monday.
The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 9, 2017, at the First Presbyterian Church, 109 East Main Street in Hayfield with Reverend Kirk Johnston officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield, with Military Honors by the Kasson American Legion.
