Kasson

Edward Paul Polin, 80, of Kasson, MN passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at his home in his loving daughter’s arms.

Ed was born on June 2, 1942, in Amsterdam, NY to Adolph “Otto” and Gladys (Bateholts) Polin.  Ed’s father was a WW1 Veteran who came to American from Latvia.  Ed grew up on a farm on Polin Road in Fultonville, NY.  He took many courses in college for manufacturing and management, including IBM Quality College and IBM Corporate Purchasing school. He worked in many different jobs throughout his life but some of his career highlights were winning the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Contribution Award and the IBM Distinguished Leadership Contribution Award.  He also worked at Nortech Systems as a Supply Chain Manager, eventually retiring from Central Package and Display as a Continuous Flow Manager in safety and lean management.

Ed was a loving father, grandfather, friend, mentor, and a man who had faith and belief in God.  He had tremendous respect and appreciation for the Veterans, Police, Fire, and EMS.  He was a caring, kind, gentle, and compassionate strong-willed man.  He was First Class!

Ed loved landscaping, gardening, cooking, old classic cars and working on the farm.   He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren.  He loved each one of them very much! Ed leaves us with some words of advice; Have and live with good ethics.  Be honest, have integrity, respect others, and follow thru to what you commit to.

Ed is survived by his children, Eddie Polin of Rochester, MN, Eric Polin of Altura, MN, and Erin Polin of Kasson, MN; five grandchildren, Lindsey, Haley, Gigi, Kayla and Connor; four great-grandchildren; his grand dog, Jack; siblings, Dorthy, Elvina, Bonnie, and Bob; and many nieces and nephews.
