The funeral service for Edwin Carl Erickson will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2014, at the United Methodist Church 801 ~ 5th Avenue NW in Kasson, MN with Reverend Joel Xavier officiating.
Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.
Edwin Erickson, 92, of Kasson, MN went home to be with the Lord on December 16, 2014.
Edwin was born on December 6, 1922, the son of Carl and Martha (Peterson) Erickson in Ashland Township. He was united in marriage to Ione Jean Knutson. Ed farmed in Wasioja Township from 1940 to 1985. Ed and Ione enjoyed 17 years at their lake home on Little Jessie Lake. They moved back to Kasson to be near family in 2005.
Ed enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and wood working. He always looked forward to a good antique auction to add something to his collection.
Edwin is survived by his two daughters, Eileen (Herbert) Jensen and Barbara (James) Walsh; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; best friend, Pat Oeltjenbruns and family; brother, Elmer Erickson; and sister, Deloris Rasmussen both of West Concord. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ione in 2008; brothers, Roy, Andrew and Stanley Erickson; sisters, Ada Mahnke and Doris Vrieze.
The family thanks Dr. Fletcher Miller, Jean Wagner and Mayo Hospice for their care.
Family prefers memorials to the United Methodist Church in Kasson.
