Elaine June Kraemer

Elaine June Kraemer, age 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 17, 2014 in Dodge Center, MN.

She was born on June 14, 1927 and was the daughter of Ivan and Lillian Anderson.  Ivan Anderson and Anar Anderson were owners and co-founders of the Anderson Canning Company which was started in Dodge Center in 1920 and operated there until 1958.

Elaine lived most of her life in Dodge Center, MN and was married to Douglas Kraemer.  She was one of the most kind and loving human beings to know.  She was always thinking of other people before herself.  She loved to talk and was very witty with many funny one-liners.  Elaine was a very honest and hardworking person.  Elaine always had a friendly smile on her face.  She was a housewife and also worked at the nursing home for 25 years.  Elaine loved her family and grandchildren. She also was very attached to her pet cats and pet dogs.  She also loved to watch TV and her movies and she working on her puzzles.

Ivan Anderson was a key figure in the Dodge Center community and he owned and operated the Anderson Canning Factory in Dodge Center until his death in 1954.

Douglas Kraemer, who died on March 9, 1994, was a long time Dodge Center resident who worked at the Canning factory and later became part owner with his brother, Louis in 1955.  After the Canning factory was dissolved in April of 1958, Doug built houses in Dodge Center and then owned a farm North of Dodge Center.  Doug was a star Dodge Center High School athlete.  He later became very active in the community and in supporting high school sports.  Doug was instrumental in helping the Dodge Center golf course open in 1969.

Elaine is survived by her four children, eldest son, Larry Kraemer of Bloomington, MN, a son Roger Kraemer of Mazomanie, WI (near Madison), a daughter, Barb Kraemer of Kasson, MN and son, Allan, Kraemer of Kasson, MN.  She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren, Heather and Tim, Jessica, Natalie, Richie and Nicole; and 14 great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and daughter-in-law, Gail Kraemer.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
