Elsie Eldora Abel

Elsie Eldora Abel, 92, of Kasson, MN passed away peacefully with family by her side on the morning of May 22, 2019 at Saint Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

Elsie was born on December 17, 1926 in LuVerne, Iowa to Michael J Hinz and Amanda M (Schmidt) Hinz.  She attended and graduated from School in LuVerne and later attended two years of college in Mankato, MN.

She was baptized, confirmed and later married James D. Abel on April 18, 1954 at Zion Lutheran Church in LuVerne, Iowa.  They lived in Kasson, MN where they owned and operated Abel Signs for 50 years.  She was also an organist at Grace Lutheran Church for many years.

Elsie enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling all over the United States, and especially loved spending time with her family.

Elsie is survived by her children, Ross (Vickie) of Rochester, Kim (Edward) Balady of Phoenix, AZ, Jon (Ann) of Phoenix, AZ, and Chris (Carla) of Kasson; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Palsic of Osage, Iowa; a brother, Norman Hinz of Algona, Iowa; sister-in-law, Marilyn (Abel) Houdek of Rochester; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Abel; grandson, Ryan Abel; four sisters and four brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday May 25, 2019 at Grace Lutheran Church, 404 Central Ave N Dodge Center, MN, with Rev. Timothy Chase officiating.  Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Kasson.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 801 7 ^th Street SE Kasson, MN and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
