Ervin Ernest Gile, 85, of Dodge Center, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center.
Ervin was born June 28, 1930 in Kasson, MN to Gerald and Anna (Hein) Gile. He graduated from Kasson High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. After his time in the military, Ervin returned to his family farm and began his lifelong career of farming. Ervin loved his tractors, going to the State fair as well as local fairs, enjoyed listening to old time music and watching his favorite television shows, The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune and Western movies. He was a member of the Kasson United Methodist Church. Above all, Ervin enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his sisters, Geraldine (Don) Megraw of Lake City, MN, Bernette Geary of Kenai, AK, June (Keith) Posey of Dodge Center, MN; 8 nieces; 3 nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Ervin was preceded in death by his brother, Richard and by his parents, Gerald and Anna.
A funeral service will be held 12:00PM Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Kasson United Methodist Church, 801 5th Ave. NW, Kasson, MN 55944. Visitation will be held from 11:00AM until the time of the service. Pastor Joel Xavier will be officiating with interment at Wildwood Cemetery in Wasioja, MN.
