EVELYN ELLA STEIGERWALD


The funeral service for Evelyn Ella Steigerwald will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2009, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 401 West Main Street in Brownsdale , MN with Reverend Jeffery Sage officiating. Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, MN.
Evelyn Ella Steigerwald, 90, died Thursday evening, November 5, 2009, at Sunrise Cottages in Rochester, MN.
Evelyn Ella Voeltz was born on December 2, 1918, the daughter of Robert and Mathilda (Dumke) Voeltz in Pleasant Valley, Mower County, MN. She attended country school in Pleasant Valley. Evelyn was united in marriage to Henry Steigerwald on June 8, 1938, in Pleasant Valley, MN. Henry died in December of 1994. Evelyn married Leonard “Bud” Blanchard on September 30, 2000, at Our Savior Lutheran Church.
She had resided in Brownsdale since 1962, before moving to Sunrise Cottages in Rochester in January 2009. She was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Brownsdale. Evelyn enjoyed flowers, walking, birds, music, and especially her family.
Evelyn is survived by two sons, Donald (Joy) Steigerwald, Stewartville, MN; Mark (Jennifer) Steigerwald, Eden Prairie, MN; sister, Adeline DeVriendt, Vadnais Heights, MN; 4 grandchildren, Todd, Maple Grove, MN; Joel (Lisa), Rosemount, MN; Chris (Melissa), Milwaukee, WI; April Lawson, Faribault, MN; 3 great grandchildren, Taylor, Jason, and Matthew, and also her husband Leonard “Bud” of Hayfield, MN and his family, Dan (Kathy) Blanchard, Dexter, MN; Jim (Ruby) Blanchard, Kasson, MN; Bill (Janice) Blanchard, Waltham, MN; Vicki (Stewart) Reid, Waltham, MN; Betsy (Tom) Jeppesen, Lakeville, MN; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Henry, 6 brothers, and 1 sister.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2009, at Our Savior Lutheran Church 401 West Main Street in Brownsdale. Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Brownsdale, MN is in charge of arrangements.
