Faye Beatrice Bigelow

Faye Beatrice Bigelow, 79, of Kasson, MN passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.

Faye was born on December 23, 1943, in Walnut Grove, MN to Howard and Margaret (Hansen) Grams.  In high school, she was awarded the Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow award.  She received her bachelor's degree in Home Economics from Mankato State University in 1965. Faye married Wallace Bigelow on April 23, 1964.  Together they proudly raised Staci and Patrick.

Faye was a business trailblazer starting her own real estate company, Bigelow Realty, in Kasson, MN in the early eighties. She served on the MN Board of Assessors for many years.

Faye and Wally enjoyed spending time and entertaining at their cabin on the Mississippi River in Pepin, WI. They enjoyed traveling throughout the world including Europe, South America, China, and most all the continental United States.  She looked forward to spending their winters together at their home in Arizona.    She also enjoyed waterskiing, slow-pitch softball, synchronized swimming, gardening, cooking, wrapping gifts, playing cards, and reading books. She loved to sew and would often make homemade pajamas for her grandchildren.  She was a loving grandma, wife, and mother.

Faye is survived by her husband of 58 years, Wally Bigelow of Kasson, MN; children, Patrick (Molly) Bigelow of Mantorville, MN and Staci (Clay) Mitchel of Pacific Palisades, CA; grandchildren, George Mitchel, Matthew Mitchel, James Mitchel, Andrew Bigelow, Ellie Bigelow, and Kate Bigelow; siblings, Howard (Betty) Grams of LaPorte, MN and Nancy Petrie of Mankato, MN; in laws, Sherrill Sandell, Bonnie Fitterer, Bruce Bigelow, Randy Bigelow, Jerome Bigelow, and Mark Bigelow.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joni (Ray) Grefe; sister-in-law, Barbara Mitchell; and brother-in-laws, Don Sandell, Phil Fitterer, and Joel Bigelow.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 801 7 ^th St SE in Kasson, MN with Benjamin Bigelow officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Inurnment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Mantorville, MN this spring.  The family asks that memorials be donated to the charity of your choice.
