Forrest Luverne Kispert

Forrest LuVerne Kispert, 82 of Dodge Center passed away on August 15 ^th 2019 at Seasons Hospice after a short battle with cancer.

He was born on August 1, 1937 the son of Ervin and Ruth (Hildebrandt) Kispert in Holden Township, in Goodhue County, MN. He was baptized and confirmed in the United Methodist Church in Nerstrand, MN and later became a member of the United Methodist Church in Dodge Center. He received his education at rural schools in Goodhue Co. and graduated from Kenyon High School in 1955. He enlisted in the Army National Guard and completed his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

On November 14, 1959 he was united in marriage to Lois Lyman in Nerstrand, MN. He worked several years in the farm supply business including Orscheln, L&M and Farm & Home. He also worked at Hormel Foods retiring in 2000. Shortly after retiring he began employment at McNeilus Steel in the grounds maintenance.

Forrest loved sports, playing football, basketball and baseball in high school and Kenyon Town Team Ball for several years. Forrest coached his sons’ little league baseball and assisted coaching American Legion Baseball in Dodge Center for several years. His hobbies included feeding and watching the birds, golf and attending his grandchildren and great grandchildren’s activities. In later years he enjoyed many winters vacationing in Florida and attending many spring training games and the beaches.

Forrest is survived by his wife, Lois (59 years) Kispert of Dodge Center, children; Todd (Shelley) Kispert of Dodge Center, Kevin (Judy) Kispert of Dodge Center, Loren (Betsy Sylvester) Kispert of Dodge Center, and Brett (Corissa) Kispert of Kasson, MN. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way; brothers, Brian Kispert of Richfield, MN, Steven (Patti) Kispert of Murrells Inlet, SC; in-laws, Helen Lyman of Owatonna, MN, LaVonne Robinson of Rosemount, MN, Duane (Bobbye) Lyman of Vail, AZ and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, a brother, and a sister-in-law.

Visitation will be 9:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2019, at the United Methodist Church, 1 ^st Avenue and 1 ^st Street NE in Dodge Center, MN. A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m. at the church on Saturday the 24th. Inurnment will be at a later date. Blessed be his memory.
