George David Bolles, 83, of Byron, MN passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.
George was born on May 19, 1942, in Rochester, MN to David and Edith (Sparrow) Bolles. He attended grade school at Engen Country School one half mile from where he was living now. From 9th grade thru his senior year, he attended the Waseca Agriculture School in Waseca, MN, along with many others from his home area. He was active in 4H and received awards. He also played Hockey during high school. Following high school he served in the US Air Force.
On October 29, 1966, he married Sandra Jean Thompson at Christ Lutheran Church in Byron, MN. George and Sandra bought an 80-acre farm north of Rock Dell, MN, where he did crop farming. He also worked at CRENLO, Inc. in Rochester, MN, until he had a heart attack in October 2000. After recovering from that, he continued to work at CRENLO until 2010, retiring after 45 years. George and Sandra bought property at Carefree Acres near Mille Lacs Lake in Milaca, MN. They also owned three weeks at Breezy Point for many years.
George and Sandra raised four children and were always on the go with their sports in high school. They would meet on the road, George going home with one child and Sandra going with another to practice. Because three of the children were in the military, they had a chance to travel to the Azores Island in Portugal, California, New Mexico, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Florida, and to the East. They saw a good share of the USA, driving thru many states.
George is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sandra Bolles; daughters, Angela May of Auburn, CA, Rhonda Bolles of Louisville, KY; son, Gregory Bolles of Byron, MN; four grandchildren, Camille May, Jordan May, Rachel May, and Caroline Adams; brothers, Robert (Betty) DeWitt, Lyle DeWitt, and Curtis Bolles; sister, Nadine Ulring, Karen Rollie, and Sonja Ersland.
