GEORGE MAURICE LALLY

George Maurice Lally, 96, of Kasson passed away June 8, 2018 at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center .

George was born on January 9, 1922, in Mazeppa, MN to Maurice and Cora (Baker) Lally. He attended high school in Mantorville, graduating in 1939. On July 18, 1942, he married Mavis Smith in Claremont. From 1944-1946, he served in the Army, stationed in Munich, Germany. Following his service he returned home to begin his career managing Erdman Grocery Stores in many locations until retiring in 1985. In retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife, fishing, golfing and spending time with family and friends.

George is survived by two daughters, Linda (Mark) Barry of St. Paul and Lisa (Kent) Heusinkveld of Stewartville, five grandchildren Shannon Barry, Alanna Barry, John (Liz) Barry, Ryan (Jen) Heusinkveld and Maggie (Mike) Purinton and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters, a niece and nephew.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 1904 Mantorville Avenue North, Kasson, MN with Father John Lasuba celebrating. Visitation will be one hour before service at the church.  Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Mantorville with military honors by the Kasson American Legion. Czaplewski Funeral Home and Crematory, 801 7th Street SW in Kasson, MN is assisting with arrangements. The family prefers memorials to the Kasson American Legion Honor Guard.
