GLEE MARY ELIAS

The funeral service for Glee Mary Elias will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Trinity Lutheran Church 104 1st Street SE in Hayfield, MN with Reverend Paul Hauschild officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.
Glee Mary Elias, 84, Hayfield resident for 65 years, died June 22, 2009, at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield, MN.
Glee Mary Protextor was born on August 31, 1924, the daughter of Henry and Fannie (Hastings) Protextor in Lyon County, Iowa. The family moved to Mantorville, MN and Glee graduated from Dodge Center Schools. She was united in marriage to Donald Elias on June 21, 1944. They made their home in Hayfield where they raised their family. Glee worked as a waitress for Lens Café and clerk at the Hayfield Drugstore. She was an active member of the Hayfield School’s PTA organization and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Glee was a direct descendent of the founding family of Mantorville. Her great-great grandmother was Amanda Mantor. Glee enjoyed traveling, bowling, taking care of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Glee is survived by her husband of 65 years, Donald Elias, Hayfield, MN; one son, Douglas (Beverly) Elias, Hayfield, MN; two daughters, Nancy (David) Klassen, Rochester, MN; Barbara (Lowell) Bakkedahl, Sargeant, MN; six grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son; and one sister.
Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Hayfield and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday.
