GLENIE KEESLING
The memorial service for Glenie Keesling will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 30, 2008, at the First Congregational Church in Dodge Center with Reverend Jean Boese officiating. Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center with military honors by the Dodge Center American Legion Post 384.
Glenie Keesling 85, died Monday morning, October 27, 2008, at his home in Dodge Center, MN.
Glenie Keesling was born on April 30, 1923, the son of Henry S. and Lucy (Clem) Keesling in Mechanicsburg, Indiana. He entered the United States Air Force in 1941. During his time in the military he flew in the Berlin Air Lift (for which he received a medal) and reached the rank of Master Sergeant. He served 22 years in the Air Force. Glenie was united in marriage to Evangeline Louise Miller on October 11, 1952, in Phoenix, AZ. Glenie and his wife both served in the military and lived in various states. Upon his retirement from the Air Force, they moved back to Dodge Center, where he worked at various jobs including school bus driver, owner/operator of the DC Mower Service, managed the American Legion Club in Dodge Center, and worked at McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, baseball, and traveling.
Glenie is survived by four daughters, Sandra (Russell) Brydges, Big Pine, CA; Linda (Ronald) Krueger, Angela (Wayne) Froisland, both of Rochester, MN; Glenda (Dennis) Closson, Northfield, MN; one son, Jeffrey (Monica) Keesling, Dodge Center, MN; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Evangeline, March 27, 2008; three grandchildren; five brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Dodge Center and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday.
The family prefers memorials to Mayo Hospice; First Congregational Church or the Dodge Center American Legion.
