GLORIA MARGARET KAPP GARMAN

The funeral service for Gloria Margaret (Kapp) Garman will 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 30450 570th Avenue, Waltham, MN with Reverend Dwight Dobell officiating.

Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.

Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday.

Gloria Garman, 86, passed away on January 18, 2014, at Mayo Medical Hospital Austin, MN.

Gloria was born on November 10, 1927, daughter of Lydia and Jacob Kapp.

Gloria Kapp was married to Maurice Garman on October 27, 1946, and they celebrated their 67th anniversary. The couple lived most of their life in Aberdeen and Redfield, SD before moving to Brownsdale, to be close to their daughters and grandchildren. Gloria worked as a therapy aide at the Redfield State Hospital and School, retiring in 1985. Gloria loved ceramics and crafts, cooking, baking, especially homemade bread, vegetable and flower gardening, crocheting, doing puzzle word search, dancing and playing cards. She enjoyed friends and family and spending winters in Arizona.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Maurice Garman, Brownsdale, MN; two daughters, Donna (Steve) Boysen, Hayfield, MN; grandsons, Nathan and Aaron; Valerie (Dale) Kafka, Stewartville, MN grandsons, Landon, Shane and granddaughter, Kayla, great granddaughter, Kira; brother, Richard Kapp, Torrance, CA; sisters, Ruth (Jerome) Hochhalter, Marie (Gordon) Geffre, and Mary (Viril) Layton all of Aberdeen, SD. She was preceded in death by her sister, Gertrude Conway, Erna DeWald; and brothers, Otto Kapp and Ephraim Kapp.
