HAROLD STERLING HOLTAN
The funeral service for Harold Sterling Holtan will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 1st Street SE in Hayfield with Reverend Paul Hauschild officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield, MN.
Harold Sterling Holtan, 91, passed away on January 28, 2015, at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield.
Harold was born the son of Obert and Nora (Jensen) Holtan on January 18, 1924, in Hayfield, MN. He was united in marriage to Marilynn Hogle on September 5, 1945, in Kasson, MN. Harold farmed all of his life. He was a funeral assistant for Czaplewski Family Funeral Home for many years. Harold enjoyed fishing, Old Time Music, dark chocolate and making people laugh.
Harold is survived by his wife, Marilynn Holtan, Hayfield, MN; children, Robert (Verna) Holtan, Hayfield, MN; Debbie (Dallas) Martin, Kasson, MN; Hollis "Hodd" (Karen) Holtan, Hayfield, MN; Brenda (Lenny) Rabon, St. Louis, MO; Sharon (Bob) Fleming, Rochester, MN; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Harold was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2015, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 501 2nd Street NW, Hayfield, MN and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. The family prefers memorials to donor's choice.
